UPDATE (as of March 25, 2020): Despite all our hopes to the contrary, the 2020 Mellon School of Theater and Performance Research is canceled. It is possible that the session will be held as planned it for this year one year later, but it is also possible that the focus will shift or format will change. The world is changing rapidly and we will try to adjust. Please check back in late Fall 2020 for updated session information. Thank you for your understanding.
Faculty and advanced graduate students of drama, theater, and performance studies, as well as independent scholars and artists, are invited to apply for participation in the Mellon School. All accepted participants qualify for free tuition, sponsored by the Mellon Foundation.
A complete application to the Mellon School consists of:
- An application form (.docx, to be saved as a PDF)
- A cover letter (one page), including a description of why you wish to participate in this year's theme (for independent scholars and artists, please also address why your work is a good fit for the session's theme, two pages)
- A CV
- A dissertation prospectus (for advanced graduate students) or a description of current research (for faculty), approximately five to fifteen pages in length, double spaced. For independent scholars and artists who plan to participate in the writing workshop, please include a one page prospectus of the chapter you plan to pursue.
