Tracy C. Davis is Barber Professor of Performing Arts and Associate Dean in The Graduate School at Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois). She edits the book series Cambridge Studies in Theatre and Performance Theory and co-edits the new book series Global Theatrical Trade. She is author of Actresses as Working Women, The Economics of the British Stage 1800-1914, George Bernard Shaw and the Socialist Theatre, and Stages of Emergency: Cold War Nuclear Civil Defense, and her most recent edited volumes are The Cambridge Companion to Performance Studies and the Broadview Anthology of Nineteenth-Century British Performance.
